Th accessibility of this magnificent natural reserve is only possible by foot or by boat. The river is ridind on a 32 km ride in between wild cliff, at 300 m height certain aerea. There's approximatly 30 rapids class I to II funny to navigate. All descents will give you the opportunity to observ this wild forest with savage flowers, eagles of Bonelli, goats and beavers. You also have possibility to take a rest on many natural beaches along the river !

Plusieurs possibilités s’offrent à vous pour découvrir ce site :
   Descente 32 km à la journée :

Le départ s'effectue le matin entre 8h et 9h à Vallon Pont d'Arc et les retours se font sur Saint Martin d'Ardèche à partir de 16h. La durée moyenne de la descente est d'environ 7 heures sans compter les pauses.
Sans grande difficultés, cette descente est néanmoins fatigante si le niveau d'eau est faible.

   Descente 24 km à la journée :

Le départ s'effectue le matin entre 8h30 et 10h à Vallon Pont d'Arc, nous vous amenons en mini bus jusqu'au point de départ à Châmes, situé 1 km après le Pont d'Arc à l'entrée de la Réserve Naturelle des Gorges de l'Ardèche. Les retours se font sur Saint Martin d'Ardèche à partir de 16h. La durée moyenne de la descente est d'environ 5 heures sans compter vos pauses.
Descente idéale car elle permet de faire des pauses plus fréquentes pour se baigner. Le seul petit inconvénient, vous ne pa
ssez pas sous le Pont d'Arc en canoë.

   The Descent 32 km - 2 days with compulsory bivouacs :

The departure are done in the morning starting from 10 h to 15 h in Vallon Pont d'Arc. You will spend the night on one of the two bivouacs at GAUD (located at the 1/3 of the course) or GOURNIER (located at half of the course). You will recovered the following day, in Saint Martin d'Ardèche, from 16 h.

At these bivouacs, you will find medical, hot showers, barbecues and charcoal to make your grills. You will have to count approximately 3 hours to reach the first aind 4 hours for the second. The following day at the beginning of the first bivouac you will have to count 4 hours to join arrival and 3 hours at the beginning of the second. This descent will enable you to benefit the maximum of the exceptional site of the Natural Reserve of the Gorges de l'Ardèche and being able to find you aroud the evening between friends by a cap fire and grills in the heart of the Gorges de l'Ardèche.

   The Mini-Descent 8 km :

The departure is settled to start at Vallon Pont d'Arc and the first stop at approximately 1,5 km is Châmes. Lasting for about 1 h 30.

The main interest of this descent is not to have any time constraints because an individual may leave at any time during the day and take any time one's would like to go make the descent. Il is a good initiation course for people who never canoe and who have a little appehension.
